Live and Well

We are excited that the website went live last night. If you are reading this, you are probably aware that you are looking at a new website.

The primary purpose of the blog is to enable you to get to know us, our business, our products and maybe even our pets better. We hope to keep you informed of plans, changes, and issues we regularly face or make. We encourage our customers to ask questions, make comments or make us smile by responding on this blog.

2007 has been a record breaking, torrid paced, very busy year at Hughes Photography. We are in a new studio and have introduced new products that have been received very enthusiastically. The images shown here will give you an idea of our new digs.

We now offer press books and gallery wrap canvas that are beautiful products.

The new year always starts slow, but we use these slow times to learn how to make more artistic images. We will be studying with some famous master photographers this year. We will keep you posted on our educational endeavors.

We have an engagement session this morning and a family session this afternoon. We will post some of the images later today. Stay tuned.

Winter Doldrums

Well, it isn't officially winter yet, but I am ready for this cold weather to be behind us. This has been a day of hibernation, feeding a fireplace, reading, working on the new website and planning for this upcoming senior season.

The bulldozers left last week and we now have access to the entire 80 acres of the beautiful Elm Valley property. We have some beautiful hollows and creekbed scenery that were simply inaccessible the last couple of years. Now, we have trails that crisscross the entire property. And we are proud to announce we can now taxi everyone around on a new tandem seater Kawasaki Mule.

We pushed the cedars off of several hillsides and have ordered tons of wildflower seeds (well, maybe not tons, but several pounds :-) ) so we can have some fields of flowers. As you can visualize, we will be able to offer some really gorgeous settings for the most unique pictures you can get in this area.

Margie is getting ready for her monthly night out to play spades with her girlfriends and I am planning on a quiet evening having dinner with some of our best friends. Tomorrow is not supposed to be so windy and cold. Hoooray.
