Summer Segue

I do not have to look at the calender to know that summer is coming to an end. Every day of the last few weeks of summer is like a marathon with back to back senior sessions. This year is no exception. We start getting a breather on August 24th with classes at area high schools beginning.
Save yourself the frustration of trying to squeeze in time to get pictures in April or May as the school year ends. Schedules and available times just get crazier and crazier toward the end of the spring semester. Do yourself a favor and get this item checked off your list early in the school year.
We were happy that Carra did not bring her rifle with her. She wanted to drop one of the bucks that were feeding at our deer feeder. Besides being an avid hunter, Carra has an infectious smile that knows no limits. Carra was virtually unable to give us a tiny smile. When she smiled it was all the way with her entire face lighting up.
Lauren's Ligne

Ligne [LEEN-yuh] Line. The outline presented by a dancer while executing steps and poses. A dancer is said to have a good or bad sense of line according to the arrangement of head, body, legs and arms in a pose or movement. A good line is absolutely indispensable to the classlcal dancer.
Lauren's senior photos were very unique. With the help of two friends, she executed various ballet steps and poses with absolute perfection. And with Lauren's help we proofed only the images that met ballet perfection.
Her ballet skills are only exceeded by her academic abilities. She is being courted by Yale for an academic scholarship.

Logan and Emily--Sensible Siblings

Emily is a junior at Tech and Logan is a senior at Abilene High. Emily just returned from Italy where she took art classes this summer. Logan, who is an ace golfer, is a summer entrepreneur. These young people are some of the most genuine, down to earth and friendly students I have worked with in a long time.

Recent Favs

Clint is a sports lover, that in spite of his affection for the Pittsburg Steelers, was a pleasure to photograph.
Hannah and Hudson are now 8 months old. Babies can sometimes be really tough to capture, but these two are as fun and lovable as their images portray. This is our third time to shoot them and their personalities get warmer and more fun each time.
Melanie is the all-American girl next door. We had a lot of fun with this shoot.
Caitlin is another child we have photographed since she was an infant. She actually calls us by name now.
The rains this summer have produced luscious, vividly colorful backgrounds at Elm Valley. It is hard to believe that the first week in August is giving us deep green foliage. There are some evening sessions left this month.

Here are some memorable, recent sessions.

Here It Comes

We can hear the hooves thundering in the distance. The 2010 seniors are approaching with a vengeance. Our 2009 season actually ran into June and was our busiest on record. We met some outstanding folks and made some outstanding images. Between babies and families, we have been able to catch our breath a little this last month and regroup for the onslaught.
Today, we started booking July and August slots. Now is the time to call. Elm Valley sessions will sell out quick as we only book them for sunset sessions.
We have recharged with some very cool, new backgrounds and some new locations at Elm Valley. The recent rains have kept everything very green in spite of this heat.
We have been on the road working with some topnotch senior photographers across the country for some innovative, ahead of the curve ideas. We will incorporate some of our new techniques with every session this season.
We are happy to introduce a new addition to our team. Meet Cory Jones. Cory is a graphic arts major at TSTC. Cory hails from the fine metropolis of Clyde, Texas. He brings with him some outstanding photoshop skills and is aspiring to be a professional photographer. We look forward to you meeting him.
I cannot encourage you enough to pick up the phone and call now. The phone has started ringing this morning and we are starting to fill up times. Last summer, we had a number of seniors who waited too long and had to book times after school started.
