January and February are usually such slow months. However 2008 is starting out with a vengence. We have been shooting lots of children and models. Between those shoots we have done quite a few practice shoots with favorite subjects, friends, and aspiring models. We are working on several new lighting techniques to keep pumping up the variety for the last surge of 2008 senior students and the upcoming 2009 seniors. Wow--can you believe it-- 2009 seniors are right around the corner.
Last year we bought a weekend home near Brownwood Lake and the previous owner left an antique wingback chair. The old upholstery had the texture and look of a worn steel wool. We found some red velvet-like material and re-upholstered it. This beauty became the first new prop of 2008. The photo is from a shoot with one of our favorite subjects and good friend, Jaye, who was on holiday break from UT.
I am excited to announce that yesterday we took delivery on a new Nikon D3 camera. This is the latest and best model that Nikon makes for professionals. It first arrived on the market in December of 2007. I have been using a Nikon D2x for the last several years and was always happy with the quality of the images. However, the D3 is a whole new ball game. The image quality, color quality, sharpness and ability to take great images in low light are all attributes of this marvelous piece of equipment. It will simply translate into better, more beautiful images for all of our clients.
The days are getting longer and the weather will soon start getting warmer. All of you seniors that have not booked an appointment for this spring, need to make one as soon as possible. March and April times are starting to fill up. Make yourself a note and call us right away. It is very possible that in the next 30 days that we will have all available times booked.
I am posting several other images from recent shoots. We will keep you posted of new developments that are upcoming.
